GEZA in Africa
GEZA campaigns for an improvement of living conditions of people in Africa and realizes projects in Kenya, South Africa, Uganda, Western Sahara and Mozambique. In doing so, GEZA relies on the intensive cooperation with its partner organizations on site.
In practice, GEZA gets involved within the realms of water and sanitation, health and HIV/AIDS, women’s and human rights as well as education. Additionally, GEZA supports local governments through projects concerning peace and democracy facilitation. Strengthening civil society is the main focus in this process.
Kenya
Due to the current drought and hunger crisis in Eastern Africa, GEZA gets involved with the improvement of living conditions of affected people in Northern Kenya together with its cooperation partners.
This involves not only the immediate supply with food items and drinking water but also a sustained water supply.

Uganda
The prevailing stake of GEZA in Uganda is to support the peace process in the North of the country. The civil war was settled with a cease-fire in 2006 after 22 years. Today, reconciliation work, reconstruction and reintegration are particularly important for the concerned population.

Western Sahara
Western Sahara is occupied by Morocco in violation of international law since 1975. Until today, about 170 000 Saharawi live in Algerian refugee camps. Since many years, GEZA advocates Western Sahara to contribute to the improvement of the precarious living conditions in Algerian refugee camps. GEZA supports education projects and organizes aid supplies. Furthermore, it renders advocacy work and information events in Austria.
Mozambique
The
North- South- Dialogue of Parliaments is a project of the
Austrian Development Cooperation (OEZA). It is aimed at strengthening societal and political support for development policy and international cooperation on a national and bilateral level.
